Lindsay Lohan Says The Necklace Was Borrowed
After several days of silence, embattled actress Lindsay Lohan has spoken out about the allegations that she stole a $2500 necklace through her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley.
“We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press,” Holley told PEOPLE on Saturday.TMZ reports that the DA’s office will file charges against Lindsay Lohan for felony grand theft on Monday.
A “source close to Lindsay” told People the store lent the necklace to Lindsay Lohan.
“Lindsay doesn’t understand how the store can file a police report when they let her borrow the necklace,” said a source close to the actress. “She’s used to getting gifted items that are worth way more than that. And why would she steal a necklace? She has tons of jewelry and doesn’t need anymore.”Lindsay Lohan reportedly believes she is an “easy target,” according to TMZ.
I feel like a broken record at this point, but What A MESS!
