celestrellas.com - Gaby Spanic's work playing Ivana, the villain of telenovela Soy tu Dueña (You Are Mine), has been harshly criticized. However, in spite of all the criticism, the actress says she is satisfied with the role, both professionally and at a personal level.
Speaking to the Mexican newspaper Reforma, Spanic, who is Venezuelan, defended herself from the criticism: "I believe that audiences from different social levels have understood the character, but a lot of magazines haven't. I can only say that those are ill-intended voices, people who are not even watching the telenovela."
What do you think of Spanic's acting in this telenovela?
Besides, Spanic claims the criticism comes only from Mexico. "In Venezuela, Peru and the United States, the critics have reacted splendidly to Ivana, unlike what happens in Mexico. It doesn't matter, one must always look ahead."
Ivana's work in the telenovela is to make things impossible for the protagonist, played by Lucero. Soy tu Dueña is filmed on location, so the crew must have to travel often to the state of Hidalgo, a trip that can last up to four hours from Mexico City.
Gaby says she doesn't mind: "I do it for the audience. They deserve all our respect, love and work."
Do you like Spanic's acting in Soy tu Dueña?
