Shah Rukh Khan has finally found his heroine in Aditya Chopra's [Images] Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. And it's Bangalore girl Anushka Sharma.
Is this the same Anushka Sharma?
It's certainly a dream come true for this 19-year-old model to make her debut in a film directed by the man who directed Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein, and produced many more blockbusters.
"We were looking first for someone who could truly embody the spirit of small town Punjab," Yash Chopra [Images] said. "We know we have found her in Anushka. While she has no previous acting experience, we have seen that unique spark in her that makes us confident that she will be a standout even opposite Shah Rukh [Images]."

The hunt for the female lead opposite Shah Rukh in Aditya Chopra’s c has ended. He has cast a Bangalore girl opposite SRK. Her name is Anushka Sharma.
Anushka is not 16, as reported by some TV channels. She is 21, and is a model. Says an insider, “She can be described as cute, rather than gorgeous. She has not been selected purely because of her looks. The director was impressed with her histrionics.”
The source adds, “Anushka has a modelling background and was the show-stopper for designer Wendell Rodricks’ Spring Summer ’07 collection. The film goes on the floors on May 16.
Anushka Sharma was born 01 May 1988 an an army based family in Bangalore. She did her schooling at the Army School and later graduated from Mount Carmel College with a degree in Arts. She was the find of internationally acclaimed Goan fashion designer Wendell Rodricks. She began her modeling career at the Lakme Fashion Week and was a show-stopper at Wendell Rodricks Les Vamps Show. She Was a First Film is a the King Khan himself in Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi as Taani in 2008.
