Hailee Steinfeld Takes "True Grit" to Tokyo

She’s been on a meteoric rise to fame, and Hailee Steinfeld was spotted at a press conference for her new movie “True Grit” in Tokyo, Japan today (February 17).

The adorable actress smiled widely for the Japanese press while posing for pictures and answering questions at The Peninsula Tokyo hotel.

In related news, Hailee Steinfeld has won the Best Supporting Actress category in the Gurus O’ Gold poll.


Spokesperson David Poland told press, “She holds her own with some heavyweights.” “True Grit” has scored $176 million worldwide so far.

Hailee Steinfeld: 2011 BAFTA Awards

Making for her first experience at the UK event, Hailee Steinfeld turned up for the Orange British Academy Film Awards 2011 in London, England on Sunday (February 13).

Held at The Royal Opera House, the darling young actress looked lovely as she excitedly awaited the BAFTA festivities to get underway.

During the show, Miss Hailee Steinfeld will be facing off against Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Natalie Portman and Noomi Rapace for Best Leading Actress honors for her work in the movie "True Grit".

The ceremony sees Jonathan Ross as host for the fifth year while being broadcast on BBC1.
Of the event, Deputy Bafta chairman David Parfitt was high on British films this year around, as he said, "British film has always punched above its weight in the film world. British film is always quite well represented in the Oscars as well as the Baftas."


"It's not that we have a particular bias. British film in general plays well around the world because it's very good."

Hailee Steinfeld Takes "True Grit" to Berlin

Taking her hit movie overseas, Hailee Steinfeld was spotted at a photo call for “True Grit” in Berlin, Germany today (February 10).

Joined by her costars Josh Brolin and Jeff Bridges, the 14-year-old actress smiled from ear to ear for the German paparazzi at the Grand Hyatt.

Earlier this week, Hailee was spotted taking a large bag of clothes to donate to charity in Los Angeles.


As for her overnight success with “True Grit,” she told press, “Everything about it…the movie is such an adventure. My character, Mattie, she’s on this journey trying to find her father’s killer and I, myself, am on this journey or filming this film.
